Pond Life—Eco Club

This term we are introducing Biodiversity to our One Planet portfolio. Eco Club surveyed the plants in the new pond area last week, and thanks to some generous donations from staff, planting began in earnest on Wednesday.

New species introduced were: ferns, spring bulbs: snowdrops, wild daffodils and bluebells, and a selection of native woodland species such as saxifrage, violets, and hedge parsley. If the warm weather continues they will be watering a lot in the coming days! More plants are needed to provide competition to the bindweed, nettles and brambles that are keen to take over the space once again!
