About FoHOS
FoHOS is a voluntary parents’ association which aims to raise funds for the School in order to provide the children with an enhanced academic and social environment. FoHOS organise a number of events throughout the year which not only raise funds but also provide the children and parents with opportunities to socialise with each other in a relaxed atmosphere.
All families joining the school automatically become members of FoHOS, and if you would like to become more involved in the life of a school, or become a Form Rep or Committee member, current members of the FoHOS Committee will be happy to help you.
What is the role of a Form Rep?
We have a Form Rep for each Form in the School. The Form Rep is a link between parents in each Form and the FoHOS Committee.
What might a Form Rep do?
Form Reps have several roles, including arranging (but not necessarily hosting) coffee mornings or organising a Christmas Parents’ night out. Being a Form Rep need not be hard work or time-consuming, you just need to be enthusiastic and willing to help when needed. The regular jobs include organising the end of year card and gift for the Form Teacher, and helping with clarification on forthcoming events should parents need any information.
Form Rep to FoHOS Committee
We are always keen to welcome new members onto the Committee, and being a Form Rep gives you an idea of what to expect should you wish to join the FoHOS Committee.
Welcoming new families
All Form Reps and Committee members are encouraged to make a link with new parents early on in the academic year. This gives newcomers to the school the ideal opportunity to hear about Hilden Oaks from a current parent’s point of view.
Please contact us through the School Office if you would like any further information.
FoHOS News
During our centenary year FOHOS were involved in organising and contributing to many of the special Centenary Celebrations, including: the Centenary Tea Party, Black Tie Ball at St Julians, Family Picnic at Riverhill and they also purchased Centenary Badges for all the pupils.
During the summer holidays, FoHOS undertook a major project to renovate the pond area. The results were amazing, and the children quickly took advantage of this fantastic cross-curricular learning resource, when they returned to school in September.
