Maths Excellence

Congratulations to Jessica in Form 6, who has achieved a Bronze Award from The Mathematical Association in this year’s Primary Mathematics Challenge (PMC). This prestigious honour demonstrates her achievement as one of the best young mathematicians in the UK. 

The first stage of the challenge took place in November 2019, when 66,500 children across the country took part.  After successfully answering a variety of multiple-choice mathematics problems, Jessica joined the highest scorers, who were invited to take part in the PMC Bonus Round in February 2020. Jessica rose to the challenge and was one of only 1,590 pupils nationwide,  to win an award in the Bonus Round.  

Well done Jessica, we are extremely proud of you.

It is also worth mentioning that a few other Hilden Oaks children in Form 6, narrowly missed being entered into the Bonus Round, by only one point!
