Keep Calm & Carry On!
This was the message from the Hilden Oaks Prep, Years 5 and 6 production, ‘Treachery at Traitors' Quay’, this week, which turned out to be very apt for the current situation. Despite having to cancel the performances scheduled for parents and friends on Wednesday and Thursday, Forms 5 and 6 ‘carried on’ and performed just for the other children and staff in the school, with a special video recording made for the parents, who sadly missed out on a live show.
Set in World War 2, ‘Treachery at Traitors' Quay’ is a tale of evacuees and spies, full of mystery, jeopardy and plenty of rousing songs. Think 'Dad's Army' meets 'The Famous Five' and you have a sense of what it was about.
Headmistress, Mrs Katy Joiner said “The children all performed brilliantly and showed the true Hilden Oaks values of resilience and perseverance. Well done to all involved - it was a triumph!”
