International Day

Thank you to everybody who helped make our International Day a big success, especially the parents who made video presentations, taught live on Teams, or came in to teach face to face

It was a wonderful opportunity to learn about some of our Hilden Oaks families and their own unique heritage, and it also made us realise what a richly diverse school, and town, we have with so much to celebrate.

The children danced, sang, painted, crafted, did map work, tasted food and more. The older children in particular were challenged with the concepts of racism and diversity, and a few ‘myths were busted’.

The school was festooned with flags from the 195 countries of the world and were the impetus for some new playground games. We discovered that those who enjoy international sports, recognised more flags than most others!
