The children in Early Years had a close-up meeting with a few animals when the ZooLab visited Hilden Oaks. Each group welcomed Jinny the tarantula, Mike the hissing cockroach; Stevie the corn snake; Buttons the African land snail; Speckles the frog and Rex & Raptor the rats, for a fantastic sensory experience. The Nursery children were provided with a special baby sensory experience - each animal or insect was introduced with a nursery rhyme, such as ‘Incy Wincy Spider’ following which, they were introduced to Jinny, the tarantula!

All of the children demonstrated the Hilden Oaks values of courage, when they petted or handled the animals; patience, while they waited their turn, and consideration for all the animals they met. Well done everyone.
