Safety Day
As part of our provision for PSHCEE, the timetable was committed to Safety Day on Tuesday. The day began with a wonderful assembly on ‘How the armed forces keep us safe’ delivered by Mr Hargreaves, Housemaster and CCF Contingent Commander at Tonbridge School, which involved dressing up in boots, helmet and body armour. PC Fretwell from Kent Police also came into school to talk to the Reception and Pre-Prep children about how the police keep our communities safe. The rest of the day was structured around key themes of British Values (the rule of law and respect for others), Road Safety, Fire Safety, Health and Wellbeing, Consent and First Aid, all delivered in age-appropriate and creative ways. The children were treated to a variety of lessons and workshops in which Safety was the primary focus, enabling them to ask questions and learn some key skills in keeping themselves safe as they grow.
