Mayor's Debate

This week, our Head Boy and Head Girl together with two of our House Captains, took part in the Mayor's debate at the TMBC council chambers in West Malling.

The debate was chaired by past Mayor, Cllr James Lark and children from a number of schools across the borough came together to debate three topics:
1. Is homework necessary?
2. Do we spend too much time on technology?
3. Should school days be longer so we get Fridays off?

Demonstrating democracy in action, a vote was taken following the debate on each issue. Collectively, the children decided that homework isn't necessary, that children don't spend too much time on technology and that they are happy with the current structure of their school week.

What a fantastic opportunity for these young people to be able to experience. Thank you Cllr Lark and TMBC for organising such a great event.
