Brilliant Inventors and Inventions

As part of their history learning, Form 2 have been exploring inventors and inventions from history, focusing on those which have had a huge impact of society and those which have dramatically changed across time.

Form 2 were lucky enough to have Mrs Flynn come into school to speak to them about the invention of braille. From the original alphabet, invented by Louis Braille, to large braille typing machines, to modern devices using image, to speech technology, this incredible invention means that people with sight loss can have the same access to the written word as sighted people.

Form 2 even had a go decoding their names in braille on their very own key rings!
