Thinking Outside the Box!
Educating children is about so much more than just the academic curriculum, which all schools are required to follow. It is also about preparing them for their lives ahead by creating a lifelong love of learning, giving them a set of values to follow, opening up a wide spectrum of opportunities, and helping them to ‘think outside the box’ when difficult challenges are presented!
The past year has certainly presented its fair share of challenges that have required us all to think outside box and come up with new ways of doing things. The whole Hilden Oaks Prep family, including staff, pupils and parents alike, have embraced these challenges and found solutions to enable us to continue with most aspects of school life throughout the pandemic - but in a different way! As a Values-based Education accredited school, values are at the heart of everything we do and the children have continued to demonstrate these in abundance - from acts of kindness and consideration, to showing resilience, perseverance and patience in times of difficulty. Curiosity has also encouraged them to explore, be creative and to develop independence.
In September 2021, Hilden Oaks looks forward to welcoming a new intake of Reception children, and we hope that by then, life will be a little more settled. However, we are always ready to adapt and embrace new challenges and are committed to ensuring that all our new pupils will be equipped to do the same.
